I knew
you weren’t far away from crawling and thought that before the month was out
you would have started to crawl but as the month started to come to an end I
started to live in denial as all of a sudden life as we knew was going to change
but it was yet other large milestone that you achieved which meant you were
growing up; oh so fast I might add.
Other milestone
I think you have achieved but don’t really want to test it too much (not sure
if it’s because I want to keep you a baby or that I’ve been told that it’s
better for your development if I let you do it by yourself) is that you can sit
by yourself. And as I look back on
photos of William at 7mths I can see that he started to sit at the same time. I
also had him well and truly out of the bathing cradle and into the bath ring
and sitting in the shopping trolleys. So yes I think it’s more to do with not
wanting you to grow up so quickly.
Self
settling and sleeping through the night is the biggest issue this month and
while it could be a lot worse I did decide to put us on the sleep school
waiting list just encase this don’t become better. Some days are much better
than others but it’s the nights that are hard when your waking up 4 times after
midnight most nights. Oh did we get lucky with your brother (who slept through
from 12 weeks and only started waking once a night from 6mths for a few months).
I have often tried to let you cry it out but more often than not you have a
cold which I’m sure doesn’t help the situation let alone having a and cold and
crying isn’t a pleasant look. With any luck you start to eat more soon and you
won’t need to wake up for milk.
Feeding starts to become a little challenging as you begin to
be distracted by anything and everything but especially William (and Peppa Pig ALREADY). You have also
taken a keen interest in pulling intently and with force along with twirling my hair or drawcords while
drinking. I can safely say that pulling/twirling my hair is something that I’m
not encouraging as you have a lot of strength for a little girl.
And lastly you have stopped what we call playing the trumpet
and swapped it pursing your lips together and sticking out little tongue out a
little. It’s very cute and you know it; as it’s ended with the corners of your mouth turning up leading into
a smile or laugh if we play along with you.
