5mth Oh my you have grown lots this month

Dear Samantha

As we watch you grow most of the time it's not noticeable on a day to day basis however this month especially towards the end it appeared that you grew substantially every couple of days. Your smiles and reaction to people and places are becoming clearer and your personality is starting to become evident. You clearly love getting naked because as we start undressing you it doesn't matter the mood you’re in you start to giggle and smile. But when the clothes have to go back on you become oh so upset.

You showed your determination to achieve this month by rolling from your back to front. We found you practising and getting frustrated all Sunday and Monday morning however it all payed off as by the end of the day on Monday you had rolled; as it was for your brother I missed the first roll.
It has always been clear that William loves you and is protective of you and funny enough you too are already protective of him. Early this month there was a situation where both you and your brother showed your love for each other. The first was when Dad was tickling William, we were sitting nearby feeding and once finished I turned you to face them while I burped you. It didn't take long for William's enjoyment shown by soft giggles turned into a deep chuckles and when that happed your bottom lip dropped and you started screaming. Dad stopped tickling and you instantly stopped crying, this happen 3 times in a row before we decided that we better stopped as it was clearly tormenting you. A day or so latter we visited Dad at work and one of his colleagues’ went to take you from my arms to give you a hug goodbye and William started screaming ‘My Sammy’.  We do hope the love you have for each other remains.

We had our first Naish Clan weekend when our Sydney cousins came to stay with us. From the moment they walked in the door both you and your bother instantly bonded with your cousins. With only a few months between you and Sylvie (likewise with William and Jack) it was lovely to see you both investigating and playing with each other (as much as one can at this age). I’m sure that as the years roll by you will become rather close and hope that you are always there for each other like sisters.

Below are some things we got up to this month.
• 18 weeks – Started to roll, found your feet
• 18.5 weeks – Started tasting food (Banana), started to blow bubbles, got upset at William being tickled. I inflicted your first wound by cutting your finger instead of your nail. You weigh in at just over 6.5kgs

• 19 weeks – While you have had colds since the 2nd month you had your first day of being 'sick'
• 5mths– Tasting food progressed to ingesting

Happy 5mth birthday my precious girl
