6mths 2nd But Not Forgotten

Dear Samantha
The last 6 months have just flown by and rather than carrying you around I now find myself rethinking and nearly always opting for the sling and by the end of the month the pram has fast become the mode of transport….... no longer my little baby.

This month I started to really notice the difference between the “1st Child” and the “2nd Child” and all I can say is that while you are the 2nd child you are not loved less!! It really is that life is just busier with 2 so those extra things that I did with William I have missed doing with you. Between keeping your brother amused, working, tending to everyone’s needs and sleeping there just isn’t much time left. So if your ever wondering why William has more baby photos or has a keep sake that you don’t it’s that I lived more in the moment with you and enjoyed the moment instead of trying to capture it.

You started to interact more with not only myself but everyone around you. I find that William has a calming effect on you if you’re a little upset, especially useful when it’s nappy change time. Your eyes brighten and your smile increase when your Dad shows you any sort of attention (you will have him wrapped around your little finger in no time).  However I have noticed that you’re not quite the attention seeker that your brother was when it comes to random people.  While you have everyone saying what a beautiful baby you are it’s like you hold back and suss them out first before offering a smile or a giggle, were your brother was nearly always the one to smile and capture their attention first.

Below are some things we got up to this month.

  • 23 weeks – Begin to ingest solids but it’s still early days so it’s still hit and miss

  • 23 ½ weeks – You start to suck my face when you’re hungry. But I like to think of it as your kissing me.
  • 24 weeks – You easily roll both ways and can no longer wrap you for sleep
  • 25 weeks – Your easily spinning (doing 360’s) around chancing things on the floor
And some happy snaps
Such a happy little girl
